Many of us are anxious about what a return to normal could look like this fall, with schools going back to in-person learning and many offices reopening.
Prepare for this potentially stressful time by indulging this summer and taking care of your mind and body. By looking after yourself now, you’ll be in much better shape to take on the world come September.
Be your own BFF
Becoming your own cheerleader is often one of the biggest hurdles when it comes to self-confidence and care. Before starting negative thoughts or self-talk, ask yourself, “would I say that to my best friend?” Of course not. So, treat your internal dialogue as a conversation between you and your friend and help cheer them on.
Schedule some me time
Take time to pamper yourself and do things that are good for you and make you happy. Try a bubble bath, face mask, or going for a walk while listening to your favourite podcast. Although me-time will look different for everyone, it will have the same effect — improving your mood and self-confidence.
Check off your to-do list
Is there something you’ve been meaning to do forever but haven’t gotten around to? Whether it’s scheduling a massage or speaking to your doctor about a skin condition like acne, do it now. There have been great advancements made in the last 20 years, including a topical retinoid treatment that treats larger areas like the chest and back, so chances are there’s something out there that can help solve a long-time issue.
