The past year we have spent more time at home than ever due to the lockdown. Even though the new year has arrived, things are far from “normal”, and many countries all over the world are now going through another lockdown. People are staying home as much as possible and practicing social distancing. While some people don’t really mind staying at home, many others are slowly getting tired of not being able to do all the things out in public that they’re used to. Being at home so much means that we have to come up with more activities to do that doesn’t require us leaving our homes. Whether you live alone or you live with someone, it can be challenging to find fun things to do, but it’s just a matter of being creative so you can see the opportunities instead of the limitations.

Game time is anytime

Playing games is a great way to have fun at home, whether you live alone or not. If you live with someone, board games guarantee hours of fun, and there are a lot of different games you can play. If you live alone, but still want to play games, there are tons of online games to try. If you have some extra money on hand, you can even try your hand out at an online casino. You can play poker, blackjack or other classic casino games, and it’s lots of fun. If you’re lucky, you might have a chance of winning money, but the most important is that you have fun.

Put the baking gloves on

Being at home so much increases our urge to eat more! Now that restaurants and cafes are closed, you can easily create your own delicious food. Why not spend an afternoon or two trying out some different baking projects? All the extra time we have can be well spent in the kitchen and the best part is that you get to eat all the delicious treats afterwards.

Back to the books

Being in lockdown forces all of us to really slow things down and get back to some of those activities we may have strayed away from, like reading. If you want to really relax at home and do things that don't require any technology, you should start or get back to reading books. It’s great for your mental health and if you find a book you really like, you can easily spend hours on this activity, getting lost in another world. Turn off your phone for a few hours, make yourself a cup of coffee and crawl under a blanket. We guarantee you’ll have a cozy time.
