How Many Females Are Video Gamers?

When it comes to video games, female gamers have long been considered a minority in the undertaking.  For example, when you think of playing games at Dreamz slots, males have occupied the largest position in playing video games. However, industry surveys indicate that the figures are changing significantly and the gender ratio is believed to be nearing to equal.  Since 2010, studies have revealed that women have made almost half of gamers across the world.

In India alone, for example, the rate at which female video gamers is growing is higher than that of male rivals. This is based on the latest research carried out and the number is estimated to increase in 2020. China, Japan and India are the leading countries in Asia in regard to female playing video games. According to research, there was a 19% growth of female video gamers in 2019, according to the data that Google commissioned.

Asia alone accounts for 48% of the entire world gaming revenue in total. According to Rohini Bhushan, females appear to be the biggest growth catalyst for the increased millions of video gamers that are joining the industry every year. There are a lot of factors that contribute the growth and connectivity has improved in the region. One of them is that it is a great way to enjoy some alone time.

Video gaming has now become a mainstream affair that is enjoyed by both men and women. It has been discovered that 45% of video gaming is occupied by females and also 46% of video game purchasers is dominated by women as well.

Asia

Asia has experienced a strong growth with gamers who use mobile devices to play video games. Many people in Asia use mobile phones as their primary device that uses internet. To them, smartphones have become a must-have fashion accessory and also gaming tool. Female teams and leagues, including the Female Esports League in Asia have had a great impact in helping to increase female representation. The Esports League has received sponsorship from firms like SingTel, a mobile communications firm. The idea is to increase female gamer’s visibility and also support growth professionally.

USA

A  2019 report conducted by Statista indicated that 46% of United States gamers were female. This is only expected to grow in the coming years.

Globally, the gaming industry globally has seen rapid growth in the past few years. Video game sales worldwide generated a total of $105 billion in 2017 and the figure is estimated to rise up to $140 billion come 2021.  

Worldwide, there are now an estimated one billion female gamers.

The gender gap divide when it comes to gaming continues to become narrower. An increased number of women and girls of diverse ages as well as backgrounds who are finding their way to video gaming.  Players begin!
